Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the workbench app (“App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

workbench is a miniature painting companion app that helps users manage paint collections, track models, match colors across brands, and document painting progress. The App is available on iOS and iPadOS.

3. Free and Premium Tiers

workbench offers a free tier with core functionality and a premium subscription (“workbench Premium”) with additional features. The free tier includes limited paint and model tracking. Premium unlocks unlimited tracking, cloud sync, statistics, photo galleries, and CSV import.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

workbench Premium is available as a monthly or annual auto-renewable subscription, billed through your Apple ID via the App Store. By subscribing, you agree to the following:

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
• Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the same price.
• You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your App Store account settings.
• Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

Prices may vary by region and are subject to change. Price changes will be communicated in advance per Apple's policies.

5. User Accounts

An account is not required to use the free tier. To access cloud sync, you may create an account using Apple Sign-In or email. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activities under your account.

6. User Data and Content

You retain ownership of all data you create in the App, including paint inventories, model records, notes, and photos. Your data is stored locally on your device by default. If you enable cloud sync, your data is stored on our servers (hosted by Supabase) to provide synchronization across devices.

You may export your data at any time using the export feature in Settings. If you delete your account, your synced data will be removed from our servers.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App.
• Interfere with or disrupt the App's services or servers.
• Upload malicious content or attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' data.

8. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, and original content, is owned by workbench and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Paint names, brand names, and associated data are trademarks of their respective owners and are used for identification purposes only.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that defects will be corrected. Color matching and paint data are provided as guides and may not be perfectly accurate.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, workbench shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of data.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time for violation of these Terms. You may stop using the App at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases, but provisions regarding intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability survive.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
